Gharara
The Sharara split in two!  Originally the attire of the Nobility of Lucknow, is now the wedding ensemble of most Pakistani brides. It is extremely elegant and very full in flare at the knee area(two trumpet skirts constructed like pants). The ghrara has a concentration of work at the knee also known as the goat. It is worn with a kurti and full dupatta. It can also be layered with a kurti and an transparent organza gown, duster or overlay.

Sharara's

The Lehnga with a join at or below the knee level. The skirt area below the knee is very full (trumpet skirt) in flare and resembles an open umbrella. The Sharara is floor sweeping ( farshi) and is worn with a kurti and with one or more dupattas. When two dupattas are worn, one is usually used as a veil and the other is draped on the shoulders. This is a very formal attire extremely ornate and best suited to weddings. The origins of the Sharara are said to be in the design aesthetics of the moghul princesses. Wide culottes are not the Sharara as may be listed on other sites!

Sarees

The Sari is a length of cloth measuring from about 4 to 8 meters by about 120 centimeters (13 to 26 feet by about 4 feet), which is draped around the entire body. Most of this fabric is pleated at the waist and then wound round to make a skirt or pair of trousers, with the remaining few yards swept across the upper half of the body, covering at least one shoulder and sometimes veiling the head.

Shalwar's

A trouser with a diagonal piece of fabric( godet) sewn at the inseam all along the length of the main panel to add graceful flare. The top of the shalwar has a gathered yoke belt area which resembles a cumber band. This belt is stitched to the main body of the Salwar with gathers. The belt may have a drawstring, elastic, or may be stitched with a flat front and an elastic gathered back. The cuffs of the shalwar are stitched with buckram and may be plain or accented with embroidery, crochet or ladder lace. This cuff are is known as the paincha and may range from 5 inches to 11 inches depending on the fashion season. The shalwar is worn at the waistline or the belly button level.
